It is designed for career-changers as well as those who are interested in advancing their current cannabis-related careers. Coursework will encompass retailing, social and economic justice, marketing, supply chain, regulatory compliance, and more. Courses will be taught by professionals currently working in the cannabis industry. Coursework will encompass retailing, social and economic justice, marketing, supply chain, regulatory compliance, and more. Master's degree candidates will also complete a capstone project, where they will develop a formal plan for the cannabis business and pitch it directly to industry professionals. According to Leafly, there are now 321,000 full-time American cannabis jobs. With the industry’s expansion, it’s not surprising many accredited universities are investing time and money into cannabis education. Some universities only offer a few classes while others have full degrees in cannabis. Colleges and universities across the country are stepping up to meet the demand for workers skilled in the cannabis industry, and they’re connecting their graduates with potential employers. Marijuana companies, meanwhile, can turn to these institutions to fill their ranks. The cannabis industry is expected to support between 425,000 and 520,000 full-time jobs in the United States this year, according to the MJBiz Factbook. That figure could soar as high as 670,000 by 2025.
