Luis Castillo needs to start hot, stay hot, and end hot if he is going to convince folks outside of Cincinnati Reds fandom that he is a top pitcher in this league. Mechanics were described as part of the problem, bad luck another, but Castillo was just bad for the first two months of the season. He's got to expand that two-thirds of good pitching into an entire year if he is going to be taken seriously as a Cy Young candidate.

La Piedra showed his dominance, though, as he kept Milwaukee off the scoreboard.
