They certainly keep things entertaining don't they? The Brewers needed all nine innings to tie the game and eventually win it with the long ball in the bottom of the ninth thanks to Keston Hiura's 14th homer of the season in a 7-5 win over the Pirates. Garrett Mitchell chose a perfect time for his first MLB home run with a shot to right-center field to tie the game in the eighth inning. It will go down as one of the moments and images of the season when Mitchell saluted the crowd for a curtain call out of the dugout.
The win was especially important with the Padres defeating the Giants, so the Brewers didn't lose any ground in the wild card chase. They are essentially two games back with 35 games to go of a playoff spot. Another factor for the win was the Brewer offense picking up an "off-axis" Corbin Burnes at the moment.
