Breaking Into...  -- In this episode Black Hollywood Live host James Lott Jr. welcomes Cinthya Guillen to Breaking Into to discuss her life and career! Cinthya Guillen is a photographer living and working in Southern California. Her work aims to confront socially constructed ideas around space and identity. Her current project, Abstract Borders, challenges perception and bias by capturing seemingly disparate homes in Los Angeles and Tijuana, Mexico. Though she enjoys technology and the ease of digital cameras, her true love is film photography. In order to bring exposure to women of color who still shoot film, Cinthya co-founded the Black Dove Film Club, a collective of and for women of color photographers. Their mission is to promote their love for film photography while uniting as an underrepresented minority in the film community.
