Hour 1 Boomer called last night’s Mets win, ‘one of the best games they’ve ever played’. The momentum is clearly on the Mets side right now. Boomer is also loving Mark Vientos and his clutch hitting in the playoffs. Gio expects the Mets to win tonight, that’s how much confidence he has in the Mets. Right after the show yesterday, Rob Saleh was fired from the Jets. Boomer previously mentioned that if they lost in London, somebody was getting fired. Gio said this feels like more of a mess now than before he was fired. Boomer talked about the tension on the offensive side of the football. Their offense lacks creativity and there are players on the offense that don’t seem prepared. If all the problems are still on the offense, all of the issues are still there with firing Saleh. Why did Woody Johnson let him start the season if he didn’t believe in him? Jerry is here for his first update of the day but first Boomer wonders when Davante Adams is going to become a Jet. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Mets beating the Phillies including a Pete Alonso HR. Nick Castellanos said he knows the Mets don’t want to go back to Philadelphia. Clarke Schmidt talked about getting the start tonight for the Yankees. Jerry has audio of Woody Johnson talking about the firing of Saleh. Jeff Ulbrich said nice things about Saleh and said everyone is to blame, not just Rob. Joe Benigno was on a podcast and talked about Saleh wearing the flag of Lebanon on his shirt in London and thinks maybe that had something to do with his firing. The Cowboys had a player that sprained his nuts and Jerry Jones was asked about that. In the final segment of the hour, Gio is getting ‘scuttlebutt vibes’ but he has to get all the details before he can go on air with it. Grimace took the 7-Line to the Mets game last night. Spike Eskin had a message for NY sports fans where he called us all losers. Hour 2 The Mets are now one game away from the NLCS. Gio is confident that the Mets will win, but he knows tonight is going to be close and not like last night. We said after that regular season that Pete Alonso needed to do something in the postseason and he definitely has. Boomer said he is rooting for Aaron Judge in the playoffs and needs him to have a breakout game tonight against Seth Lugo. We also talked more about the firing of Rob Saleh and how the Jets have looked unprepared on offense. The defense has been fine. Boomer thinks the Jets should be able to move the ball and score a lot of points against the Bills defense. Boomer wants to know if Saleh was really escorted out of the building without being able to talk to the team. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Mets beating the Phillies including Marte’s 2-run single to make it 4-0. Bryce Harper gave props to Sean Manaea for his performance. The Padres lead their series against the Dodgers 2-1. Jerry has reaction to the Rob Saleh firing from the Al & Jerry Postgame Podcast, BT & Sal on WFAN, the Joe Benigno podcast and ESPN’s First Take. Shannon Sharpe put all the blame on Aaron Rodgers. Jerry plays ‘Who’s Voice is That?’ In the final segment of the hour, Gio heard the audio of host on host crime and asked for Boomer’s reaction. Boomer said somebody on the station takes themselves way too seriously and can’t take ballbusting and ‘stabbed the home team in the back’. Hour 3 Phil Simms joins us in his usual Wednesday spot and we started with the firing of Rob Saleh. Phil said Jeff Ulbrich is ‘the opposite of Rob Saleh’. Simms said the Jets offense might be the worst he has seen so far this season. We also talked about the Giants upcoming Sunday night game against the Bengals and how they looked last week in Seattle. Phil said Daboll is getting better game by game the way he camouflages things. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds from Citi Field and Jesse Winker hitting an upper deck HR in the fourth. The Yankees play in Kansas City and Derek Jeter said that maybe it’s g ...
