High blood pressure is sometimes called the “silent killer” because it can suddenly rise to dangerous levels without causing pain or other symptoms. A program at Boston Medical Center sends pregnant patients home with blood pressure cuffs, and closely monitors their readings everyday — all to improve their health and reduce racial and ethnic disparities.
