1865: The Nottingham Forest Podcast is proud to partner with FanHub and The Terrace. Another three goals on the road and another three points; Forest made it three away wins on the spin as they ran out 3-0 winners over Birmingham City at St. Andrews. In an entertaining game played on a wet and rainy afternoon, it was Forest who took the lead on 11 minutes as Lewis Grabban thumped home a brilliant 20-yard strike. The hosts threatened to fight back as they caused some scares inthe Reds defence with set pieces, but it was a set piece of their own that saw Forest double their lead, as Ryan Yates headed home a corner on the half hour mark. In the second half a swift, flowing counter attack saw Forest extend their lead further after nice work from Grabban and Philip Zinckernagel released Djed Spence down the right, where the wing-back thumped a finish into the roof of the next for 3-0. Birmingham responded with chances of their own but Brice Samba held firm in the Forest goal, producing a stunning late save from Marc Roberts' header to preserve a clean sheet. The Forest 'keeper was rightly praised by head coach Steve Cooper at the end of the game. It makes it two wins from three for the new Forest boss, with an impressive counter-attacking display that saw Zinckernagel, Grabban and Brennan Johnson in particular pose a constant threat, running the Birmingham defence ragged at times. In our match report Baz is joined by Steven as they talk about the improvements from Jack Colback and Ryan Yates, how Forest are playing with a greater sense of freedom and the continued impact that Steve Cooper is having on his new side.
