So wherever you are listening today, enjoy this week’s episode of the Flipped Lifestyle Podcast.     Show Notes The sales we had from our pre-sales of lesson plans from Elementary Librarian were constantly building! We were making a few extra thousands of dollars each month and nearly doubled out income each month.  We wanted to mimic this for my knowledge about football too. And, ultimately launched a podcast and website for playbook sales that weren’t even made yet! At this point we were really guarded about it because it wasn’t totally life-changing, quit-your-job type of money yet. But, people started noticing us eating out more, going on more trips, buying new clothes, stuff that we couldn’t do before. We even stopped hanging out with people that we thought might have been holding us back a little bit. We started having those serious conversations about quitting our jobs. We were seeing that life was different in more ways than just our income.  One of the first things we did was sell our home - if people didn’t think we were crazy before they definitely did then! We did this because we figured out if we could sell out home we could make our mortgage payment half of what it was at the time. In August of 2013 we made $36,000 on top of the $15,000 we had made in July. That is when we knew we could quit our jobs and take this to the next level! We did it - we quit our jobs! (I stayed to coach football through the end of the season). People thought we were crazy for quitting at the beginning of the year. But we simply couldn’t trade our lives away any longer for a steady paycheck. The opportunity cost was just too much! Our last official day was Thursday, September 26th, 2013. And, we remember this because we had a teacher training on Friday the 27th - that way we didn’t have to go! The 27th was our freedom day!  Its not to say it was all smooth sailing - but here we were in the Promised Land!
