We didn’t know how we were going to be our own bosses - but we were going to one way or another! We just needed 100 people to give $50/month. But how?! There are 7 billion people in the world surely the odds were ever in our favor! One day I was outside mowing the grass and downloaded an episode of Smart Passive Income by Pat Flynn and starting an online business - that was something new! I remembered back to when I had sold playbooks on eBay. Then, I decided I would upload some linebacker drills and sell those. And, people bought it! It wasn’t a lot of money but I think I made $500 in the first month. It was the answer. This is what we had to do. I was obsessed. I stopped thinking about anything other this online business idea! One day I came upon an episode about how someone made money. So of course, I went crazy using them as much as possible. At the time I had  a bunch of US History worksheets that were saved on my computer. I figured I would create a worksheet and make one available for free download and just spam it up, surrounding it with ads! Needless to say I wasn’t making any money. That was until the day someone went to that spammy site and clicked on one of my adds and I made 11 cents - I freaked out! (You would have thought I won the lottery, not made 11 cents). I flipped around the computer so proud of my content I created and that someone had bought it. I remember Jocelyn’s face softening and the wheels turning that this online business thing was possible! Jocelyn realized that she could not find lesson plans for what she needed an an elementary librarian. So she decided to similarly make lesson plans and sell them online. It took off! She really started getting a following! We had figured out that Jocelyn’s PDFs were something that could make thousands of dollars and the only thing limiting us was the amount of people we reached! That is pretty much how we figured out that if you take action and put things out there - there are people out there that need the information you have and know!
