The guys open up talking about the defense and how awesome it is to watch a team with a dominant defense. They compare this defense to the 1995 Pete Carroll defense and say that this 2022 defense looks to be better. They talk about Demeco Ryans and discuss whether or not he is the best coach on the staff. They highlight Charvarious Ward, Nick Bosa, & Talanoa Hufunga. They discuss taking Nick Bosa for granted and Hufunga emerging as a potential defensive player of the year candidate. They talk about the Rams and how much more talented the 49ers are.
Next, they talk about how the Division belongs to the 49ers as long as Jimmy G manages the game. Jimmy G was accurate for the most part, and he played well enough to win, which is all they can really ask for right now. There are things to be worked on, but they must focus on the positives, and Jimmy G did exactly what they wanted. It felt like 2019 all over again. It feels Iike a signature win for the 49ers. If they can ever figure it out on offense, they would be absolutely unstoppable. One critique is that the offense needs to carry its load a little bit more. They get into the offensive line play without Trent Williams and how surprising McGlinchey's play has been so far this year.
The offense, other than Deebo being superman, did nothing. The 49ers should have blown this game open, and if Hufunga did not get a pick-six, then that game was in jeopardy. If the offense does not pick it up, it will not win a championship. This defense needs to get its S$%* together. Kyle is straight-up terrified that Jimmy G is going to turn the ball over. It should not be as close as it ultimately was. Lastly, they talk about the 49ers' upcoming schedule and how Bobby Turner coming back may help the running game going forward. We can dream Super Bowl with this defense, but we can't dream Super Bowl with this offense.
