The biggest social-media platforms have tens of millions of teen users in the U.S., according to a Pew Research Center survey in October. But newly signed legislation in Florida prohibits people under the age of 14 from having social-media accounts, regardless of parental consent. It’s set to take effect on Jan. 1, 2025.
