Thank you once again for another episode of "Available on Kickstarter". Once again, these episodes are our way to highlight Kickstarter and other crowdfunding projects that don't fall into the horror genre. If you would like to see your project highlighted in one of these episodes or on our blog, just email us at nerdsftc@gmail.com. You can also use the Contact Us page or on FB messenger on our website: Nerdsftc.com.

"Pursuit of Plastic" by Casey Bowker & Chris Walk

First, we talk to Casey Bowker and Chris Walk, about their upcoming Kickstarter project: "Pursuit of Plastic". The project officially launches on September 24, 2020. You can click the following link to follow the project and be the first to be notified when it launches: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/caseybowker/pursuit-of-plastic?ref=clipboard-prelaunch.

A comic book that transcends the logic of time, space, and most importantly; toy collecting.

"Serious Creatures" by Tony McMillen

We also talk to Tony McMillen about his graphic novel "Serious Creatures". "Serious Creatures" is a 200 page graphic novel about a teenage special fx artist growing up in the Hollywood movie industry of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. It collects the first six-issue arc: "Never Been to California". Tony also talks to us about the inspiration for this comic and his love of horror as a kid.

It’s 1974, Bobby Feckle is fourteen years old and sneaking onto the set of some movie about a shark terrorizing a New England tourist town. The movie will change Hollywood and Bobby’s life.

Get a front-row seat to the rise and fall of an industry and an art form; all from the perspective of an adolescent iconoclast who helped shaped both before he was even old enough to shave.

You can follow Tony on Instagram and on his website.

"Toeatl" by Kevin Garcia & Emmanuel Valtierra

I wanted to highlight one more project that I found this past week. This is right down my alley, and I fell in love with the concept of it right away.

You can follow it on Kickstarter by clicking on the following link: http://kck.st/2ZzaU5r.

The story of Teoatl is the story of Mexico. The people popularly known as Aztecs called themselves Mexica, and while the story of their fall has been told and retold at least 400 times, the story of their rise - the founding of the great city of Tenochtitlan - is one more people need to know.

Schoolchildren might learn about the Aztecs leaving on a journey guided by the war god Huichtilopochtli, ending when they find an eagle holding a snake on a cactus growing from a stone - but a lot happened in leading up to that iconic moment.

This is the story of the struggles, the prophecies, the faith, and the loves of Mexico’s founding fathers and mothers.
