Tonight, we’ll read the final excerpt in our series from Dorothy Wordsworth’s personal journals. This was one which she kept the year 1805. It was published a century later in 1897. Wordsworth was an English author, poet, and diarist. This particular journal was from a mountainous “ramble” her and her brother took around the Lake district of Cumbria, England. The story of this "ramble," written by Dorothy, was afterwards incorporated in part by her brother William in his prose “Description of the Scenery of the Lakes”—another instance of their literary copartnery.
