The Atlanta Falcons made huge splashes this off-season. First, they signed the biggest free agent quarterback on the market in Kirk Cousins to a $180 million dollar contract that included $100 million in guaranteed money, $90 million of which he gets this year. So, yes they went all out to woo the quarterback to Atlanta.

Then came NFL Draft day, and the Falcons were quickly the talk of the town once again, drafting a 24-year-old rookie quarterback with the No. 8 overall pick. Kirk Cousins's deal is for four years, so they either just bought really expensive insurance, or quickly realized they spent their money wrong and this is the plan to bail themselves out. Only time will tell how this turns out.

Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Bijian Robinson all return to headline the offensive studs for Atlanta. They’ll likely be more productive with Kirk Cousins at quarterback than they were with Desmond Ridder.

The Falcons open the season with four home games in their first five games in the schedule, a good chance for Cousins to return from that ACL injury and get used to his new home in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
