This is a Arthur & Merlin: Knights of Camelot podcast Special Making Of with cast and crew from the film with actors including Richard Brake (Merlin) & Richard Short (King Arthur) and his Knights, crew members from Art Dept, Make Up, Costume, 1st AD, Production Manager, Editor and Post Supervisor.

We go deep into making a single film on this weeks bumper edition as some of the main cast and crew from the recently released Arthur & Merlin : Knights of Camelot come and chat about how they made the film with it’s director Giles Alderson, Producer Lucinda Rhodes Thakrar and cinematographer Andrew Rodger hosting the marathon.

First up the team talk about how the film came about and how Lucinda as producer finds the scriptwriters and approaches a historical action film like A&M and how she asked Giles to come on board. They go into detail about the beginnings of the project and how Giles pitched for the directing job before bringing their first guest Richard Brake (Game of Thrones, Batman Begins) on to chat about playing Merlin.

Giles, Lucinda and Andrew then chat to 1st AD Stu Laurie and Production Manager (and 2nd AD) Jess Gardner about their roles on the film, how to prepare a film like this, Do’s and Don’ts, how to steady the shop and how to make a film set run smoothly.

After discussing casting and how it can shape a film the team bring on King Arthur himself and his trusty (or not) partner Lancelot in the shape of actors Richard Short (Mary Kills People) and Tim Fellingham (Vikings) to talk about playing lead roles, what to expect on an indie film, working with directors and crew and how important it is to be fit, have stamina, great focus, support and work ethic as an actor on a film.

Then the team bring on the noise! The wonderful cacophony of the Knights as the actors who play them talk about their experiences on set. The Knights are Kris Johnson, Ronan Summers, James G Nunn, Ian Sharp, Daniel Schutzmann, Aaron May and Stephen Uppal.

Then to end Part One of this special episode we bring on the wonderful Make Up and hair designer Brodie Mayhew and the fabulous costume designer Robyn Manton who talk about the importance of prep, continuity, blood effects, the colour palate and working with the director and team to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Join us for Part 2 on Friday as we have:

Actors Joel Phillimore, Stella Stocker and Jen Matter as well as Art Director Jamie Foote, editor Ollie Parker and Producer and post Supervisor Jeet Thakrar.
