Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that the British and Irish governments hope to hold talks with the Northern Ireland parties in the autumn, aimed at restoring devolution. However, DUP Leader Arlene Foster stated she was unaware of proposals for talks in the autumn saying, "these are just comments from the Irish Government". She went on to rule out a stand-alone Irish language act and the failed draft deal from February as options for Northern Ireland.
