It seems like every week now there's a new weight loss social media trend. Whether it's completely cutting out a food category or taking medication not intended for weight loss, these trends usually tend to be unhealthy for you. We talk about that and so much more on today's episode. Let's dive in!Today's Guest: Cristina CastagniniFrom a young age, Cristina Castagnini knew that she wanted to help people. In high school, she landed a gig as a teen advice columnist after a family friend suggested that she apply for the position. This early experience helped her to realize that she had a talent for helping people with their problems. In college, she initially planned on going to medical school to become a psychiatrist, but after taking a number of psychology courses, she realized that her true passion was clinical psychology. She earned her BA in Psychology from the University of California Santa Cruz, her MA in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University, and her PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Southern California. After graduate school, she worked as a staff psychologist in the adult psychiatry department at Kaiser Permanente, where she was the lead specialist in eating disorders. In 2019, she left Kaiser to open her own private practice. In addition to her private practice, she has started a podcast for those struggling with disordered eating, eating disorders, body image issues, and weight management. She believes that getting information and awareness out there is key to helping people make positive changes in their lives.
