Aratere is expected to sail from Picton to Wellington today for the first time since the grounding on the June 21. Maritime New Zealand says conditions have been imposed on the operation of the vessel for safety reasons. The first sailing is restricted to clean rail freight, with no dangerous goods or passengers - and a tug escort when not in Cook Strait. Wellington Harbourmaster Grant Nalder spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
