Anna Conway was born in 1973 in Durango, Colorado. She received her BFA from the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art and later received her MFA from Columbia University School of the Arts. Conway is the recipient of two awards from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation (2005 and 2011), the William Metcalf Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters (2008), and the John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship (2014). She lives and works in New York.
