Submit ReviewIn this episode of Plus One, Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Amy Helm joins Kraz to talk about her extraordinary life of music. You’ll hear Amy explain the writing and production processes behind her upcoming album What The Flood Leaves Behind, and how the legendary barn that her father built brings out the most genuine expression from the musicians who play within its walls. You’ll also hear Amy detail Levon Helm’s process for building the barn, discuss working with T Bone Burnett and how he helped her band Ollabelle grapple with immediate success, and her one of a kind story about seeing Joni Mitchell at The Last Waltz.
Amy Helm is a singer-songwriter best known for her work with Ollabelle, the New York City-based folk group. She is also the daughter of Levon Helm, one of the greatest American musicians of all time and a founding member of The Band. She has won multiple Grammys as a performer and a producer, and her impressive discography and musical resume are testaments to her intense dedication towards her craft.
Amy’s upcoming album, What The Flood Leaves Behind can be pre-saved here, and is available on June 18.
