At 16, Alex was one of the founding members of the metal band Testament. Alex, consistently recognized as one of the greatest metal guitarists of all time, then walked away from it all. He moved cross country from his native San Francisco to New York City… and went to college to get a degree in Jazz.

He faced loads of criticism from friends and family for doing this… but today, he’s happier than ever. Also: most valuable thing Alex learned taking lessons from Joe Satriani… cold, harsh lessons learned in the music business… difference between progress and practice… pleasing others… why NOT fitting in is something to be proud of, and LOADS more stories in this rare glimpse into Alex’s personal life...
