The rise of artificial intelligence in healthcare has sparked debate among radiologists about its potential to enhance or replace their work. AI algorithms can improve accuracy and speed up scan reviews, but doctors are hesitant to trust them with patient health due to limited testing and transparency concerns. Despite FDA approval of over 700 AI algorithms, only 2% of radiology practices use them, and liability issues remain unresolved. AI-assisted radiology may only be more efficient if extremely accurate algorithms are developed, allowing radiologists to step away from the process.
