Submit ReviewMolly Reynolds, Brookings fellow in Governance Studies and the Center for Effective Public Management, discusses Republicans’ recent failure to roll back major parts of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). With no plans to vote on the Graham-Cassidy proposal, Republican lawmakers now turn their attention to tax reform.
Reynolds also explains how Republicans can move forward by passing a new budget resolution to restart the reconciliation process, which may include bundling health care with the highly anticipated tax reform, but procedural limits and pervasive political divides may continue to stifle their progress.
