Rock Concerts, Boxing Matches, and Las Vegas Headliners have a “WARM-UP ACT” precede them.

If that act is a good one, the audience will be “primed and ready” for the speaker and will help to “jump start” the main event.

All the following warmups get audiences in the spirit for the main event.
  • Organ playing at a baseball game.
  • Film clips at football games.
  • ‘Eye of the Tiger’ type music blasting long before Tony Robbins takes the stage.
I like the above video playing as my audience enters the venue.
Here is the script for this Warm-Up Act!

Fred Miller, NO SWEAT Public Speaking!

I try to have a “Show Before the Show” to Warm up the audience.

This is one I made and I have a slide loop running. I’ll read the words. Listen to the music.

“Me? Get up in front of an audience and speak?

WHOA! You want me to give a speech when?

Am I nervous about speaking to a group?

You want ME to to deliver the Commencement Address?

ME? Lead tonight’s discussion?

ME? Present to who? You’re kidding, Right?

You want ME to give a presentation When?

ME? Speak at the pulpit This Sunday?

OMG! Whose turn to speak next?

That’s not really My Name on the agenda Is it?

They want someone to lead the meeting. Did I just hear My Name?

You want Me to Toast the bride and groom?

He wasn’t looking at Me when he said, Next! Was he?

The expect Everyone to speak?

Fear of Public Speaking? Me?

I think I just heard her call My Name!

YIKES!

She just asked Me to come up and say a few words?

Glossophobia The Fear of  Public Speaking It’s a Word, not a terminal disease, and it Can be Controlled!

The Fear of Public Speaking. You are not alone. 75% of the population people have this fear.

The Fear of Public Speaking can negatively affect careers and success. That can be fixed!

We expect Leaders to be Great Speakers. Some are. Many are not.

Do You want to be a Leader?

This can be You!

Starting Today!

The images and music grab their attention.

Some will acknowledge having the “Fear of Public Speaking” the video addresses. They are anticipating my presentation that will, among other things, address that very common fear that holds many back.

Develop a “WARM-UP ACT” for your presentations.

Do that and I guarantee they will be absolutely, positively – NO SWEAT!
