Platypuses haven't been seen in the River Torrens in Adelaide since the 1880s, and were declared extinct on Adelaide's mainland in the 1970s.

Now, an ambitious rewilding project is hoping to reintroduce the species to the River Torrens, which has been successfully restored from from a sewerage wasteland to an urban wetland in recent years.
