Submit ReviewJust like at the national level, every four years New York Democrats gather for a convention where they choose the candidates they’ll support in the November elections. NY1’s Zack Fink, Courtney Gross and Emily Ngo comment on this year’s festivities, which were all but a political coronation ceremony for Gov. Kathy Hochul. In just a few months, she has gone from the little-known lieutenant governor to a widely popular and powerful incumbent. But shouldn’t Democrats encourage competition within their ranks, instead of simply backing the sitting governor?
Zack, Courtney and Emily also weigh in on Mayor Adams’ criticism of the way he’s been portrayed in the local media. Visibly frustrated, the mayor claimed this week that the lack of diversity in newsrooms all around the city is resulting in what he sees as unfair and biased coverage of his administration.
We want to hear from you, especially what you think about the relationship that Eric Adams is developing with the press corps.
