Just in time for Halloween, The Game Brass has released a new album, Brasslevania: A Tribute to the Video Game Macabre ! The album is a core sample of music from some of the most terrifying games of all tim, including Silent Hill 2, Luigi's Mansion, Resident Evil , as well as more light-hearted music from Grim Fandango and Banjo-Kazooie. I had a gr e at time talking with a few Game Brass members: John Robert Matz, trumpet; Roby Duguay, trumpet and flugelhorn; Daniel Romberger, trombone; John Stacy, french horn; and their arranger, Thomas Kresge. The Game Brass got together after a few of the members met at the annual Music and Gaming Festival, and decided to form a group to be a bridge between classical ensembles like The Canadian Brass, and groups that perform game music covers. And they never stand still! There are already plans for performances at the next MAGFest, as well as another album. Brasslevania, A Tribute to the Video Game Macabre is available on Bandcamp.
