In recent years, a number of Mi'kmaw communities have stopped using English names that were imposed on them and instead are using traditional Mi'kmaw names. Linguist and elder Bernie Francis reached out concerned that some people right here on the CBC are mispronouncing places names, so we asked him to join us to give the whole province a crash course.
