As the fall settles in, many of the world’s largest economies are trying to shore up natural gas supplies to keep the lights on and industries running in what’s expected to be a cold winter. But tight supplies of natural gas and a lack of access to other fuel alternatives is driving prices way up, and leaving many fearing there won’t be enough supply to make it through the spring.
