This past Saturday was the one-year anniversary of the death of the late great Broadway composer Stephen Sondheim. Before he passed away, D.T. Max, staff writer for The New Yorker, had been speaking with Sondheim on and off for years, working on a magazine profile to be timed with the premiere of a new musical the composer was writing. Those conversations have now been compiled into a book, Finale: Late Conversations with Stephen Sondheim, and author D.T. Max joins us to talk about his intimate access into the later years of Stephen Sondheim.

D.T. Max will be in conversation with Patrick Radden Keefe at The Strand on Thursday, December 1, at 7:00pm. More information is here.
