"The Creator" is now playing in theaters and contains one of the most fascinating behind-the-scenes production stories of 2023. Shot with a budget of only $80 million, the original sci-fi film from "Godzilla" and "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" director Gareth Edwards has turned quite a few heads in the industry regarding how a blockbuster film can be shot, and its visual effects work be produced efficiently. Edwards was kind enough to spend some time talking with us about the film, including how it harkens back more to his work on his directorial debut "Monsters" than his latest two Hollywood blockbusters. But before we spoke with him, we also had the opportunity to talk with ILM Visual Effects Supervisor Jay Cooper, the on-set Visual Effects Supervisor Andrew Roberts, and cinematographers Oren Soffer and Academy Award-winner Grieg Fraser. Please take a moment to listen to these interviews and check out the film, which is now playing in theaters from 20th Century Studios.
