Christine Lakin, who is the guest host of the Acme Comedy Theatre in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 14, gets a big break acting in the new film Race to Witch Mountain, starring Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino and opening today, March 13. Her first audition was for a TV-commercial "Got Milk?!", and after not getting that job she didn't have to wait long for her next opportunity, which was the part as the young Rose in the civil-war flick Rose and the Jackal, which also starred Christopher Reeve. In 1991 she took her first step towards big fame and landed the role as the tomboyish Al on the Friday night hit “Step by Step.” When "Step by Step" was cancelled in 1998, Christine landed jobs in independent films such as Big Monster on Campus, Finding Kelly and Whatever It Takes. This week, however, folks in Los Angeles will see another side of Christine Lakin as she hosts a night of satire and comedy at the Acme Comedy Theatre.
