Chris started off in broadcasting in 2004 before accepting a position as General Manager of Tiger Weekly which he soon led the charge to evolve into DIG Magazine, Baton Rouge’s alt weekly. After a brief stint in the food and beverage industry as General Manager of Lucy's Retired Surfer Bar & Restaurant, he filled his new role at Launch Media as the Director of Business Development. During that time, he’s also served as both the chairman of Art Melt from 2007-2011, and the current chairman of the Baton Rouge Blues Festival since 2013. Needless to say, he’s been heavily involved in the staples of Baton Rouge art and culture. In this episode we dive deep into the Baton Rouge music scene, covering everything from practical advice on how up and coming musicians should market themselves to using laser-etched wooden records to attract some of the best musicians in the world to play at Blues Fest. If you’re a blues legend, an aspiring musician... or have listened to a song on the radio this one time, you aught to give this episode a listen.
