While Harley’s away, Brett and Amy will play. We test the bounds of our PG rating. On this week’s episode, Brett and Amy take you into the Indiana backwoods to look for the elusive Beast of Busco in Churobusco Indiana. Known as Turtle Town USA, Churobusco has one of the longest running cryptozoological festivals in America- “Turtle Days.” held annually in June. Seems like a lot of hub bub for a little ole turtle, but this legendary beast is bigger than a dining room table and weighs more than 500 pounds. Access to the Beast of Busco site of the sightings is on private property today. “No trespassing” signs are posted, so please check out the town, the local street art and the giant turtle shell at the local McDonald’s, but be respectful of the actual property. We discuss Little Turtle, AKA Michikinikwa, Miami people chief and military leader. No Episode of the Travel Oddities Podcast would be complete without a place to grab a bite, and we found a magical burger landmark decorated in clowns. Lots of clowns. Magic Wand Restaurant famous Indiana landmark that is also a family friendly diner. Of course they serve a mean Turtle sundae. The Top 5 just gets weirder as time goes by…maybe it’s just Brett. Cryptid Con is coming up very soon, so be sure to check their site if you are going to be in the area.
