This week on Scream at the Screens the team goes three decades back to the days of their youth long before Tyler was a twinkle in his father’s pants. The panel had picked three of their favorites for Tyler to see:

Indiana Jones: Raiders of the lost Ark

The Running man

Roadhouse

The Twitter vote chose The Running Man, which is appropriate as Arnold and 80’s action are practically synonymous.

Entertainment news also included what was being remade or had sequels in work, which included two of the panels choices; a Roadhouse sequel with Rhonda Rousey and an Indiana Jones 5 for summer 2019.

Another Gremlin sequel is also in work, leading us to discuss Key and Peels sketch on how the last sequel was probably thought up.

We also discussed another preview of interest; Outcast, a Cinemax original Series, by the creator of The Walking Dead, Robert Kirkman. Check out the Trailer below:

The crew went on to focus about what made 80’s movies so memorable if not a little cringe worthy.

That was the decade where practical effects still prevailed but special effects, as we now know them, were just being introduced. Movies were slower pace allowing the audience to connect with the hero, and families and friends were more genuine and convincing. Movies weren’t as PC and openly acknowledged social classes and often used that as a plot point.

The Villains and Monsters were also more credible and frightening and didn’t need to destroy a whole city to do so.

However, the best part was the music; the ones that until this day can’t help but to remind us of a beloved 80’s classic.

Song’s like eye of the Tiger and Danger Zone. This of course led to another side topic on a Falcor commercial that you can see here:

Tyler finished the flashback episode with his review of the running man, which he gave 6 Tasties and the rest of the panel gave it an average of 7 Tasties.

For next week, the topic will be on well know Director Quentin Tarantino and his body of work. Not just as a director but writer and actor too. Wade chose Pulp Fiction, Tiffany chose From Dusk till Dawn and Ricardo chose his latest release, The Hateful Eight. The show predictably concluded with our fan girl like gushing of Game of Thrones and Danny adding another title to her many. Mother of Dragons, The Unburnt, Breaker of chains and now Khal BBQ Grandmaster.
