Hopkins. Baldwin. Bart the Bear. Michael from Lost. Yes it's The Edge, the David Mamet-scripted suspense yarn from 1997. This movie is so full of testosterone it makes Glengarry Glen Ross look like The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

It wasn't a huge hit at the time, but there is something about it that forged an impression in our younger psyches. Does it still hold up? Does it amount to much more than a half-hearted cross between American Buffalo and Alive? If anything it's notable for being the film debut of Stocky Alec Baldwin, causing many audiences in 1997 to wonder why Billy Baldwin was in a movie with Anthony Hopkins.

Somewhere between the law of the wild and the nature of man lies our podcast about The Edge. Enjoy!
