Today's Guest: Kyle Bornheimer, actor, "Casual," "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," "Breaking Bad," "Better Call Saul," "Agent Carter," "Love," "Worst Week" Mr. Media is recorded live before a studio audience of fans of “Worst Week,” “Perfect Couples,” “Romantically Challenged,” “Lovin’ Lakin,” “Family Tools,” “Playing House,” and “Angel From Hell”… in the NEW new media capital of the world… St. Petersburg, Florida! On this show, all roads lead back to comedic actor Kyle Bornheimer. Part of that, I admit, is that I often want to be the character he plays on TV, from the lovable bumbler way back on “Worst Week” and the sex addict on the Hulu series “Casual,” to being a rogue secret agent getting manhandled by Hayley Atwell on “Marvel’s Agent Carter.” (Less so the gay men he played a month ago on two completely different sitcoms, “Modern Family” and the revival of “Will & Grace.” Not that there is anything wrong with that.) He is also joining the cast of "Love," the Netflix sitcom produced by Judd Apatow and starring Gillian Jacobs and Paul Rust; he'll play Rust's older brother. KYLE BORNHEIMER podcast excerpt: "When I met Alyssa Milano, she was already one of the smartest people I ever met (in Hollywood) in terms of her enlightened views on social and political matters, and the industry we're in. She's a pretty stellar human being. What she's been able to communicate through social media is something a lot of people are feeling right now. And I'm glad she's saying it. There is a culture in our industry -- and a lot of industries -- that has to change, of rich, powerful men that think they're entitled to something." In real life, I became connected via social media with members of Bornheimer’s actual family, with whom I share some political views, above and beyond our love of all things Kyle. This is Kyle’s third appearance on Mr. Media, but first via video. In addition to talking about his latest projects, I hope to talk to him about some broader topics, including his women co-stars such as Alyssa Milano (#MeToo) and his family. Might even have a surprise or two. (POSTSCRIPT: I talked to Kyle about Kevin James and Erinn Hayes, but it completely got past me that Leah Remini played Kyle’s aunt in “Family Tools.” Starting to think the next Hollywood game will be #SixDegreesofKyleBornheimer.)
