Thurman and Torrence Thomas, are the creative duo behind ASKTHETHOMASBROS, one word, all caps. After picking up their instruments at the age of 17, the twins began their journey into what would soon be called a "genre-defying" musical style. During their stint as backing musicians for Dee-1, opportunities to play high profile gigs like the New Orleans Jazz Fest, SXSW, House of Blues New Orleans, and many others, arose. They eventually ventured out on their own to pursue work that is both beautiful and meaningful, spreading a message of hope and goodness. In this episode, we dive into their arrest as teenagers as a pivot point for their life, tapping into emotion and narrative in their writing and music, and the story behind their non-profit organization, Tank Proof.
