A great Sony A7rII introduction from Tony NorthupOur friend Tony Northup made a very simple introduction video to the new A7rII based on the information he gathered online. Unlike the Canon 5Ds 50MP camera which is just a normal 5DmarkII cam on steroids the new A7rII packs a lot of innovations! Tony explains them all and the A7rII seems to be not only a good A7r successor but also adds features missed on the A7s (like internal 4K and good phase detection AF system). Sony did indeed listen to the customers feedback and fixed most of the stuff that did not work well or that were missing. I can’t wait to see how the A7sII will be.

Nintendo's cruel, perverse remix of Super Mario Bros. World 1-1 is mandatory E3 viewingWhile E3 might not officially kick off for another two days, things have already started popping off here in Los Angeles, with both Bethesda's first ever E3 press conference and the freshly revived Nintendo World Championship rounding out Sunday night's festivities. The Six Most Interesting Games I Played On E3 Day One, RankedAt its worst, E3 is like a restaurant where the chef makes you watch a video of the meal he intends to make and then asks you to come back next year when it’s ready. Sometimes, if you’re lucky, the chef will prepare a sample of the food and then let you watch him eat it, so you can observe how delicious it is.

Final Fantasy VII Scenes That Would Look Crazy In The RemakeThe announcement trailer of Final Fantasy VII’s remake showed a slightly darker and more realistic world compared to the 1997 game. Everything We Could Find Out About That New Metroid GameE3 2015’s top head-scratcher so far: Why would Nintendo bring back their dormant Metroid franchise, a series known for fairly quiet, careful solo sci-fi exploration, with a multiplayer shooter that’s also a sports game? Good thing I had a half hour with the game’s producer to find out.

HoloLens is amazing, but that Minecraft demo was misleadingMicrosoft demoed a version of Minecraft during its press conference by shooting footage through the Hololens hardware connected to a camera.
-
HoloLens' final version will keep limited field of view, says MicrosoftMicrosoft enjoyed one of the most talked-about moments of E3 when it showed off Minecraft running on the upcoming HoloLens augmented reality hardware. The demo featured a bit of smoke and mirrors — the reality is far from the seemingly huge field of view shown in the demo — and it looks like the final version of the hardware won't be much better.

Making Final Fantasy for a younger audienceHiroki Chiba has been working at Square since the mid-‘90s, and in that time has seen the Final Fantasy franchise go through many incarnations. In recent years, as the series has evolved, he’s been a bit worried that it’s outgrown its potential audience.

Yoshi's Woolly World melted my cold, dead heartNintendo is a company that creates new games in long-running franchises like Mario, Star Fox or Zelda almost ad nauseam. It's a seemingly never-ending rotation with each new title trying to top the last. And while new titles do often innovate, they still tend to pack one of two powerful punches: nostalgia, or an undeniable cute factor.
