In this episode, Ashanti Bentil - Dhue discusses what existing data and feedback tells us about the perception of Chief Diversity Officers within organizations, the challenges which arise when non black people of colour are in these roles and the impact lack of trust has on organisations.

Sometimes Chief Diversity Officers dismiss employee sentiments - ‘but a lot of that is because they don't understand the historical distrust, disappointment and frustration that people might have about the things happening in their workplace. For example, the broken promises, empty pledges, and the impact this can have on people's morale and investment in contributing towards driving forward DEI goals.”
