Submit ReviewJust in time for the backlash against Prometheus, and the backlash against that backlash, we revisit the original Alien series, from the claustrophobic abject horror of 1979's Alien all the way to 1997's Alien: Resurrection in which Ripley comes back from the dead to audition for the Harlem Globetrotters (incidentally check out this video in which Sigourney Weaver describes/rationalizes that scene-- my favourite line is "I tried to use the basketball as a weapon and keep playing"). This week we're joined by guest Alex Huls, whose writing you can find at the official site of TVO's Saturday Night at the Movies (one of my favourite programs) and read his New York Times Magazine article about Midnight Movies to-enjoy-going-to-the-movies-again.html?pagewanted=all">here.
