Tara Mohr | Playing Big | Book Review by Lisa Woodruff

On Mondays, I will be posting a podcast recording of previously recorded book reviews. These are books that have impacted me that I want to share with you. In June, I will share different books on mindset, and I again share how my own thinking has been influenced and even changed for the better by these new ideas.

This week, I am reviewing Playing Big: Practical Wisdom for Women Who Want to Speak Up, Create, and Lead by Tara Mohr. I listened to this book in the car, and it felt like I was sitting with a friend who was one step ahead of me who shared her insights and wisdom on how she made it.

So much of my own self improvement and self development is about goal setting. This book takes a radically different approach. It helped me think through and figure out what I was uniquely created to do and to play big in the world. Initially, it was intimidating to take on the responsibility to live out my purpose. She helped me figure out my limiting beliefs and my inner critic so that I could change my mindset. So much of what happens in my life is happening between my two ears. It helped me to think differently and to think bigger thoughts. It helped me to change my thoughts from a position of power.
