Despite the absence of a cobbled season, Lizzy Banks and Tom Whalley talk about the ways in which cycling technology has attempted to tame the cobbles. There’s a look at some retro editions of Roubaix, particularly those in the early 90s, where it looked as if road bikes equipped with front and rear suspension were going to be the dominant force on the cobbles. This begs the question, what happened to full suspension road bikes? Lizzy also chats to Tommaso Cappella from Vittoria, about the ways in which tyre choice for the cobbled classics has evolved over the years. And Neil Shirley talks about the equipment testing that NTT Pro-Cycling did on the cobbles back in February. There’s also an excerpt of Cycling Podcast Race Radio from the inaugural “No Drop Cappuccino Ride.” Service Course is supported by Science In Sport scienceinsport.com Music courtesy of epidemic sound epidemicsound.com
