Jireh Deng is a writer born and raised in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California. She is a third-year studying applied math, economics, and international studies at California State University, Long Beach. Her words appear on the Asian American Writer’s Workshop, podcast VS, Edsurge, Level Ground’s film and poetry collaboration Blooming in the Whirlwind, and YouthSpeaks’s anthology Between my Body and the Air. Summer of 2021 she will be an editorial pages intern at the LA Times. In this episode, we dive into Jireh’s journey toward exploring her sexuality and its intersectionality with race and poetry.
