Stage 16 of the Giro d’Italia featured the crucial time trial between Trento and Rovereto and saw Simon Yates hold on to the pink jersey of race leader. With Yates losing less time than many expected to his closest challenger, Tom Dumoulin, Richard Moore and Daniel Friebe report on a day that may well have been decisive in determining the outcome of a race that finishes in Rome on Sunday.  We hear from Dumoulin and from Chris Froome, who has put himself back in contention for a place on the podium, at least, and also from Yates’ teammate, Esteban Chaves.
