It's PRIDE Month and since we are an LGBTQ+ identified and allies podcast we are dedicating all of June to 90s LGBTQ+ topics! This week, Ally leads a review and discussion on the 1999 film The Matrix. Written and directed by the Wachowski Sisters, the Sci-Fi Action film starred Keanu Reaves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Hugo Weaving. The Wachowski Sisters, who are transgender, have discussed the film correlations to their personal experiences and for all trans people. We decided to review the film and discuss these connections and how the film is an overall metaphor for transgender experience, while sharing some personal notes as well. Plus, Andy leads a round of Do You Know It?! and Jeff rounds out the episode with a Then and Now!We hope you enjoyed joining us all June for topics centering around the LGBTQ+ community in the 90s!
