Sara Svensk won Ironman Cozumel 2021 in a new Ironman-branded World Record of 8.22.:40. This would be incredible enough, but, as we’ll hear in the interview, she did this on less than four months of training! After contracting Covid in May, Sara had ongoing health problems, including heart problems that ECG indicated could have been related to a heart attack. Following 6 week of no training at all, and numerous medical investigations, she was given the all clear to return to gentle training, and, 4 months later, was able to produce that incredible performance in Mexico. I hope this interview gives hope to anyone struggling with a health condition that it is possible to return to full health and fitness!
