Submit ReviewOn Day 3 of #29DaysofMagic! I am super excited to share Dr. Dara's phenomenal story with you all! Dean of William E. Macaulay Honors College. Dara shares about how her first job was after her school career was a Post-Doctoral Fellowship after she finished her PhD. She shares about living in Ottawa, and the incredibly diverse environments she got to be a part of while there. She tells about the incredible CUNY Macaulay Honors College and is in it's ability to invest in high achievers and have equity in the world. This college is tuition free, provides paid internships for high achieving students in NY, who come from lower income households. Her students, get the freedom to take calculated risks and how incredible it is to see how far above and beyond they go in working for helping out in volunteer work, sometimes, who are double, triple majoring. She talks about youth power and how the college can play a meaningful role in helping the youth become the problem solvers they are meant to be! Dara shares about a terrifying drive in a snow storm, helped her realize what she should be prioritizing in life, and pivot to having a more healthy work life balance. Dr. Dara would like to offer her incredibly talented students from Macaulay as many opportunities as possible and is asking for help to getting her students more opportunities to problem solve.
