Stephen Park oversees the form and career of every single elite British cyclist from the track stars to the up and coming BMX and mountain bike riders, in the Olympic and the Paralympic programme. As Performance Director his job is ensuring the athletes are at their peak to perform at the right time. Tokyo 2020 in 2021 is the focus for this year but Stephen reveals the next 18 months are potentially the most 'exciting' for the sport with a home Commonwealth Games, World Championships, Road Races etc He tells us his team probably know 80% of there Tokyo team already, admitting 'some will miss out but only because some are better.' And after topping the Cycling medal tables in Beijing, London and Rio he says 'we're not going in expecting a replica of past games, but equally I recognise that was the view before Rio. We're trying to diversify our medal winning - the opportunity and gains we made on Track - the rest of the world has caught up on that.'
