The wonderful thing about the work I do is that I do get to see a lot of training programs, I get to see those of my competitors and my peers and I get to see what elements are commonly included and which elements are commonly excluded or forgotten.

In today’s episode, I will be discussing the key things often missed from the foundational pieces of training programs and workshops when delivering diversity, equity and inclusion content. Adult learning methodologies, neurodiversity and good programme design skills are essential and should not be overlooked. It’s all well and good including provocative memes and social media content but we must not forget to ensure the content, format and delivery of diversity, equity and inclusion training programs and workshops.

“Use the coaching experience as a tool to move the needle within individuals and teams in the business so that they can contribute to organizational aims and objectives related to diversity and inclusion.”

Episode Highlights:

  • What are the foundational pieces that need to be explored and discussed when it comes to creating training programs
  • Why it's so important to always be evidence and research based when you are building and creating training programs and coaching programs within organizations
  • Why intersectionality is key when creating program content
  • Why training and workshops should be relevant and practical for participants if you want them to take action after the session ends
  • Knowing the difference between information and transformation and how to take people on the journey
  • Understanding what neurodiversity is and how the awareness of it can impact and enhance the work you do and the content you produce in training
